Lisa Nash – Dental Nurse

(130186)

Hi there, I’m Lisa Nash, and I have been part of the furniture at Firwood Dental Practice since the year 2000. Never did I think I’d have a job that matches my name, but hey ho… here I am, dealing with “nashers” on a daily basis. But saying that, I do enjoy my job role; it gives me great satisfaction and joy seeing patients leave with a more confident, beaming smile.

I hope you can see I do have a fun personality & a great sense of humour and laugh at myself daily. But I also do have a very caring and empathetic side. I may not have a string of degrees and an alphabet after my name, but over all those years, I’ve gained lots of knowledge and experience.

Besides my Monday to Friday job, I have a very active social life that keeps me very busy. I do love a cheeky trip away, a night out with my friends or going for a drive out somewhere to try a new restaurant. And yes, I do love my food.

But to keep a good, healthy balance, I do partake in Zumba & reformer Pilates classes. Zumba for the Latino rhythm and plenty of sparkle… AKA cardio. And Pilates for the core strength and flexibility, now I’m getting older.

I’m all about a good work-life balance!

Joanna Carpenter-Davison – Receptionist

Hi, I’m Joanna the receptionist at Firwood Dental Practice and I have worked here since 2008.

It’s great to be part of an amazing team who are so caring and find happiness in helping others.

I understand that many patients can be nervous.  I will support you with any worries or concerns you may have, or maybe you have goals for your teeth that you would like to discuss? We can turn your fears into confidence with fantastic results. As well as your regular maintenance visits to the Practice, you may find that you need to book additional appointments for any dental issue in-between your regular visits. The earlier you can ring us in the day the better so we can get you an appointment booked as soon as possible.

We are currently taking on new private patients to our affordable monthly membership plan, if you have any questions please give me a ring.

Outside of the Practice, I live in a left-handed male-dominated environment: even the dog is male. Five out of six of us are left-handed (including me). I met my husband in 1994 and we have four sons together who are mostly grown up now.

We are all extremely hard working at the Practice but we do look forward to our holidays, my favorite place to visit is Somerset.

Carys Winskill – Dental Nurse and Treatment Coordinator

Carys joined the Firwood team in 2023 as an apprentice after studying Biology, Sociology and Law at Oldham Sixth Form. She then completed her Dental Nursing Apprenticeship at Oldham College and qualified in July 2025.

Since qualifying, Carys has particularly enjoyed assisting with implant procedures and developing her role in treatment coordinating. She is passionate about supporting patients throughout their dental journey, no matter how big or small.

In her own time, Carys enjoys taking her dog out for walks and going on holiday!

Isabella Carroll – Apprentice Dental Nurse

Isabella has recently finished from school in June 2025 and has already embarked on her career as an apprentice dental nurse. With a passion for dentistry, she’s excited to begin her journey as a dental nurse.

Isabella loves spending time with her family and listening to music in her spare time. She is eager to learn and grow, she’s looking forward to the future and all the experiences it will bring.

Megan Bartholomew – Apprentice Dental Nurse

I am a new apprentice dental nurse with a background in sport and exercise science. I recently completed my degree, where I developed a strong understanding of health, anatomy and wellbeing- skills that I am excited to bring into my career as a dental nurse.

Outside of work, I love keeping active through running and going to the gym. I’m excited to keep learning new things and progress as a dental nurse.
